Intergenerational Committee

 

At Bullard, we are striving to be an age-integrated community -- where the strengths of one generation meet the needs of another.

 

Many parents are PTA volunteers and assist in their children's classroom, but grandparents and Senior Adults can be an asset to our students success too! We have partnered with an assisted living home in our community and share with them many opportunities:

 

Senior Games -- Senior Adults play checkers, Old Maid, Go Fish and more with our students.

Have a Happy Heart -- Students make creative Valentines, write poetry, stories and distribute to Senior Adults

Wiggles and Giggles -- Student volunteers perform at Wellington Assisted Living tell jokes, wiggle around and just make everyone laugh!

Senior Story Time -- Senior Adults come in and provide our school with mystery readers or classroom readers. They also take time to share with our students things that they have learned along the way.

Character Education

 

Many classrooms utilize our Intergenerational committee to enhance their curriculum:

letter writing

history

story telling

recording

and much more!
