B.A.S.E. CLASSES FOR SPRING 2019

DRAMA KIDS Provides remarkable creative drama education for children. Our unique, fun and creative program helps to build your child’s acting skills, creative thinking, communication skills, confidence, leadership abilities, and self-esteem.  Our highly qualified and specially trained teachers bring new lessons and imaginative learning experiences each week, so that all students participate fully using a wide variety of dramatic activities.  In our spring session, students utilize all the skills acquired during the year to perform an exciting short, scripted production for family and friends.  Mondays (K-5th) 2:30–3:30
BRAINY BYTES JR PROGRAMMING – Introduce your child to technology and simple programming with this exciting tablet-based course. Students will create interactive images, computer games, and story animations.  Mondays (K-2nd) 2:30–3:30

 

BRAINY BYTES – GRAPHIC DESIGN – Art and technology collide in this fun and imaginative course. Using GIMP software, you will learn how to put your imagination to use altering and enhancing photos/images, creating your own posters, cereal box covers and so much more. During the semester students will use pictures, fonts, layers, and other customizable tools to experience first-hand the skills needed to master the art and technology of graphic design. Students will be able to take home a printable version of their creations to share with family & friends. Mondays (3rd-5th) 3:45–4:45


AFTER SCHOOL BUCKET JAMS – Bucket Jams is a great way to introduce kids to the heart of all music, RHYTHM. Learn the basics for percussion with curriculum designed by professional, trained, and experienced educators. Our accomplished instructors will give kids skill sets that will last a lifetime and be the foundation for all music endeavors in the future. So, come join the fun! No experience necessary. ULTIMATE SPORTS FITNESSAll USFA programs combine a foundation of speed, strength & agility with individualized skill development and injury prevention.   This 12 week Fitness Boot-Camp will focus on building confidence and teaching kids that a healthy lifestyle can – and should – be fun.   Each week’s workout will be different, incorporating a wide variety of games, exercises & activities that kids of all ages will enjoy.  Participants will learn not just proper exercise techniques, but also what the purpose is and why it matters to keep their bodies healthy & strong.  After completion of the program the kids will receive a gift bag and a certificate of completion.  Mondays (K-5th) 2:30 – 3:30

 

CHATTY CHICOS SPANISH– Learning Spanish can improve your child’s overall school performance, teach them superior problem-solving skills, give them a competitive edge when entering the workforce and can make acquiring the next foreign language easier. Chatty Chicos Spanish can help achieve these goals while also being FUN! Chatty Chicos Spanish classes include DRAMA! (skits and plays) ART! (crafts and drawing) MUSIC! GUITAR CLUBIt’s time to rock with Guitar Club! Guitar Club gives students in 2nd-5th grade the chance to get their hands on a ‘real’ guitar and play exciting music with their friends! Our experienced and encouraging teachers do a great job with both beginning and advanced students, so no experience is necessary to have fun in our class. KIDZKEYSKidzKeys uses color and tons of FUN to introduce students in K-2nd grade to the joy of playing the piano. Using the colorful Chroma-Notes™ system and Kodaly rhythm syllables, students quickly learn to read musical notation while they play familiar songs they will love to practice in class and at home. Our experienced teachers do a great job with both beginners and little Mozarts, so no experience is needed to have fun in our class! iBii MAGICIANS CLUB – Students are encouraged to explore and express their imagination through learning magic, artistic illustration, creative writing, and problem-solving.  Students will learn how to improve their deductive reasoning in wacky “ibii” debates and detective games! Students will also build self-confidence and overcome the “fear” of presenting in front of others.  Cost for this club is $185 per student for a 12-week session.  Space is limited. Payment plans available. LET’S DANCE – Leap into Let’s Dance this year for a dance class right at your child’s school! Let’s Dance provides students in K through 3rd Grade the opportunity to learn new skills that will last them a lifetime, build self-confidence, and have fun with friends. Our encouraging teachers will guide dancers through an exciting class of ballet, jazz technique, and creative movement with an applause-filled recital at the end of each semester! SNAPOLOGYCastles, Kingdoms & Wizards: K-2nd students will have fun using LEGO® bricks to build castles, catapults, dragons, crowns, and much more. Let the magic begin! Amusement Park Engineering: 3rd – 5th students will design their own amusement park using LEGO® bricks and other building materials. Learn to make coasters, carousels and other awesome rides. Can you design the next Disney World? Tuesdays (K-2nd) 2:30-3:30 and (3rd-5th) 3:35-4:35

 

ANN’S STUDIO – This year Ann’s Studio is coming to Bullard!  Through the 12 week program participants will create fun and unique arts & crafts projects across a wide variety of techniques.  Projects will include things like dream catchers, string art, stained glass, jewelry, chess boards, kids’ room decor and more!  Our projects are designed to provide a solid instructional framework, while encouraging students to express their own unique style.  All necessary materials will be provided. Tuesdays 2:30-3:30 (K-2) and Thursdays 2:30-3:30 (3-5).

 

ENCHANTED ADVENTURES – Sprinkle some pixie dust and jump on your unicorn, we are heading into the Enchanted Forest!  This class is filled with imagination building experiences and fun!  Adventure seekers will spark their creativity as they learn about the secret world of fairies, gnomes, elves, unicorns and all things imaginary. IMAGINE THAT! SCIENCE: WACKY SCIENCE MAGIC  Mystery and Magic are yours as the O.X.Y.S. (Only Excellent Youth Scientists) match their wits against Dr.  Lipid, Head of the Organization of M.O.R.O.N.S. (Magical Ogres Reshaping Our Natural Systems). Wait until you see the exciting science principles that your child will learn. Children will use these principles to work their way through a maze and out of the Castle of Dr. Lipid! Wednesdays (K-2) 2:30-3:30

 

IMAGINE THAT! SCIENCE: ACTION AND REACTION – Unifying Science Through Engineering: While they will love the challenges presented, you will love that your child has come away from this great program with an understanding of the scientific principles that the challenges are focused upon.  Our electrical engineering students will make solenoids, explore the workings of motors and eddy currents, watch the amazing effects of ferro fluid, and create a fuse. We will explore the magic of light snap circuits

IMAGINE THAT! MINECRAFT CIRCUITS AND CITIES –  We will introduce Redstone in Minecraft. Redstone can be used to:

Make simple circuits, such as automatic doors and light switches.  Construct complex devices such as: Trap Doors, Roller coasters, Automatic farms.  Students will learn about switches, the binary numeral system, the difference between series and parallel

circuits, make upstairs/downstairs circuits and more, all while using problem solving skills and group

cooperation.  Wednesdays (2nd-5th) 2:30-4:00

 

KID CHESS – Playing chess has proven to help students enhance their creativity, improve their power of concentration, develop and expand critical thinking skills, and boost memory and retention. Chess makes you smart and we make it fun.  Wednesdays (1st –5th) 2:30–3:30 and (K – 5th) 3:35-4:35

Students will enjoy this exciting class as they create authentic newspaper stories. KID’S TECH – ALL NEW LESSONS!  Tech-Class is where we prepare your students for tomorrow and expose them to unique tech while teaching how it all works! PLAYBALL-Learn, Practice, Play, it’s the Playball Way! Playball Kids sports and coaching programs are about preparing your child for life, with our comprehensive movement and sport skills based program for K-4. Playball uses sports as the means to build competence in all aspects of participants’ lives including the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical.  All of the programs are taught in the fun-filled, energetic and positive environment.  Each class has a well-developed lesson plan and the kids practice the basic skills for soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball, field hockey and volleyball. Matches are played and drills are used to prepare students to a lifetime of competent and confident sports participation.  Thursdays (K-4th) 2:30-3:30

 

CHEER YOUR HEART OUT GA – Gets kids physically active with cheerleading.   Kids can learn how to cheer, chant, and jump in a way that encourages fine motor skills and a positive attitude. All students will have the opportunity to perform at The Atlanta Hawks game in the spring.  Thursdays (K-2nd) 2:30-3:30, (3rd-5th) 3:45-4:45

 

BUILDER BUNCH LEGO POWER BUILD – This club is your child’s chance to further enhance their LEGO® building skills. Students will flex their creativity, problem solving, and design skills in fun building competitions against their classmates.  This session will also prepare your student for an upcoming statewide Builder Bunch LEGO® building competition against other elementary aged students all over Georgia at the 2nd Annual “Brick Bowl” on 4/27/19 at Spray Berry High School in Marietta, GA.  Each club registrant will also receive a FREE ticket to this exciting event.  Cost of the club is $195 per student for a 12-week session. Channel your child’s creativity while learning how to reduce, reuse and recycle! Ultimate Upcycling features ALL NEW sewing projects and will focus on developing practical sewing skills by using every-day items that may have wound up as trash and turning them into something brand-new, beautiful and useful!
